For very obvious reasons, we’re big fans of creative ideas to grow social media followings. Cross promotion is another one of these great ideas.
This cross promotion occurs when two or more people in closely related niches work together to promote each other’s stuff. This has to be a fair deal for every party involved, so you should all be bringing an equal hand to the table.
For example, if you have 750 Facebook fans and 200 Twitter followers, you should be approaching someone with similar stats to work with you. Approaching someone with 200,000 Facebook fans and 100,000 Twitter followers will very likely result in either no answer or an answer in the negative, as this is not a fair and equal exchange.
If you have a small following, don’t worry. There are plenty of people in the same boat you can partner with. Before you know it you’ll be watching on as you grow tremendously together!
