It’s no surprise that social media is one of the most popular places for people to look for new products and services, which is why if you own a small business or are a solopreneur you NEED to be advertising on social media. The number of people in need of your business is staggering, take advantage of it!

We get it, digital advertising sounds intimidating especially if you have no experience. The status quo options that exist today are simply overwhelming on many levels.  By doing some research and jumping in feet first you’ll realize it isn’t as scary as it looks. We put the following pointers together for you to keep in mind when setting up your campaigns. The smallest details can make the biggest difference.

Know your Audience and Target Accordingly

Nobody knows your business as well as you do. Design your ads with your key demographics in mind so that they are more effective once targeted on each platform.

Clear and Concise Ads

When people see your ads they should be able to tell what your product or service is right away. Use eye-catching words that make people want to read your ad, be creative and witty if you can. Make sure the images in your ad relate to your business and try not to use generic stock photos, you’d be surprised how much value original photos have. Spending money on a professional photographer will pay off in the long run.

Editing and Review

Nothing says unprofessional more than an ad that has typos, slang or bad grammar. Before you finalize any ads show them to a few friends to check over the wording and images. You should also show them to someone who doesn’t know what your business is so they can give an unbiased opinion.

Don’t Fall Victim to Ad Fatigue

When people see the same ads over and over the ads become stale and people stop clicking on them so be sure to rotate your ads frequently. There is no set amount of time, but you should do it when you see your clicks start to significantly drop.

Use Videos!

If you’re selling a hair detangling spray or an awesome kitchen tool invest in a quality video that shows your product in use so people can see for themselves how it works. Consumers will appreciate seeing your product for themselves, rather than you just stating that it is the best hair detangler on the market, SHOW THEM, it makes a huge difference. Invest in having your video professionally made or take the time to do a good job of it yourself. If the video quality is poor with bad volume and a shaky camera people aren’t likely to pay attention.

Have a Quick Response Time

Time is money, make sure you stay on top of any questions or comments people leave on your ads. Customers want to feel appreciated and not like their time is being wasted or ignored so get back to them within a reasonable amount of time.
